WEARERDERANGED
WEAREDERANGED is a performance speculating the human relationship to the natural world.
I've been investigating worldings that have been created from industrialization and colonization in my practice for the past two years. One of my biggest observations is that a majority of contemporary Western culture is alienated from nature.
I have been asking myself how can we imagine a future that isn’t in the framework of the colonial power structure?
There is potential for the future, through healing and grounding ourselves in the present and nature.
The future is now.
This performance is allowing detachment from reality to tap into a playful portal of what is next in a post nature world through a ritual of vulnerability, acknowledgment, love, tenderness, care, and assuming the ecosexual position.
Heavily referencing & inspired by Annie sprinkle and Beth Stephen’s with Jennie Klein: Assuming the Ecosexual position The Earth as a Lover
The ecosexual position is creating art that investigates the human relationship with ecology.. “It is feminist, queer, sensual, sexual, post human, materialist, exuberant in, steeped in humor.”
An ecosexual is a person who takes their earth as a lover, imagining sexuality and sexuality beyond the physical body and as an ecology.
To release shame and guilt of wanting freedom and to be dirty and in nature. To be wild.
